Annual Update? Shifters FAQ

Since I'm getting increasing pestering again, I figured I'd better post an update so it looks like the information is still current. Most of the previous post is still valid for reasons and such, but I figured I'd update and add to the FAQ. Most of you all are AWESOME and patient, but this is for people who are not quite as awesome or patient or apparently can't read back journals.

Q: Are you still working on Shifters?
A: Yes.

Q: Are you going to post then anytime soon?
A: No.

Q: When are you going to post it?
A: When I'm happy with it. I'm not giving anyone a time frame. I'll give a time frame when I have one I can meet.

Q. How can I see some of it?
A: Sometimes I'll thrill people during a Ustream.

Q: Why is it taking so long for you to do your comics?
A: Because I'm a busy adult with a full time job, a fiance, friends, and a desire to have a life. I've also been suffering various health issues which have greatly affected my ability and time to draw. I also don't get paid to do this, so it gets hard to justify it in the face of other more immediate paying work.

Q: Why is Brymstone Updating and Shifters isn't?
A:Two part answer, Brymstone is my 'fun' comic that updates whenever I feel like I want to draw it. Shifters is more 'serious' and I don't want to release it until I'm mostly done large portions of it.

Q: Why did you discontinue the old story?
A: For a number of reasons. Copyright reasons, I couldn't fix the old story's problems, there's a lot of old baggage attached. Lots of things. Although Redux isn't a completely new story, its rewriting the old story to make more sense. It might not seem like it yet, but only because its so few pages in. But old viewers will recognize events.

Q: Will the new story have all the same characters?
A: No, many have been removed, some new characters have been added, and a few of the old characters have been massaged a little to better tell the story.

Q: How will we know when you are going to start things back up again?
A: Believe you me, I will make a stink about it. It'll be posted all over the place. I know I've got rabid fans chomping at the bit for more Shifters, and I will reach out to them. But if you want to be VERY FIRST in line, I highly suggest you 1) Sign up for the forums here. Like be a member. Seriously. 2)Subscribe to the Shifters RSS feed via google alerts or something. 3) Follow me on twitter.

I should let it be known that I like to reward people who support me even when times are down. The people who make an effort to reach out and be a part of the community, and who've supported me now and in the past, I try to show them my appreciation by giving them things like sneak peeks, exclusive art, and other fun goodies. In the past I did have a donator's site, I'm going to resurrect that, but at the moment its still in the testing phases and I'm still trying to round up a lot of the old material that has been lost to time and technology. I've got a handful of people testing it right now, but eventually it will be a subscription site for those who want to support the comic and me. I've been tossing around the idea of a mailing list for news and exclusives, but I'm not sure if I want to do that just yet. I'm more trying to focus on getting the art done before I focus on delivery.

But the long story short, I'm still working on it.
